Celebrate!

2018 Granite (20” x 36” x 20”). Friendly and fantastical amphibian bearing symbols and letters on its body. Highland Park, Saint Paul, Minnesota. The work is intended to celebrate children’s playful exploration. The work consists of a sculpture that carries clues on it and refers to other symbols on pavers set along a path leading to the main sculpture. Through engagement with the artwork, children are enticed to decode a message that reads Celebrate!. The notion of reading as game of decoding is a fitting game for a park next to a library.
